The new VELUX Modular Skylight system wins this year’s Archiproducts Design Award. 40 jury members evaluated the degree to which new developments combine functionality with beauty through a creative use of materials and shapes. The focus of this years’ award is on technologically surprising products and concepts to uncover emerging talents, brands and trends.
The jury agrees: With its unique step structure, the new solution is not only a technologically advanced product but specifically suited to commercial buildings, both new build and refurbishment projects.

Key benefits

The new solution is available in three different configurations: Step Longlight 5-25°, Step Ridgelight 25° and Step Ridgelight 5-25° on Girder. Its minimalist design is based on a coherent and elegant structure with thin supporting beams.

Due to hidden actuators, the venting modules appear identical to fixed modules when closed, creating a sleek and uniform aesthetic. Factory-finished flashings between each row ensure effective drainage of water from the roof. The installation of the new Step Solution creates vibrant spaces and openness with natural light in, for instance, public buildings.
