When people spend 90% of the time indoors, designing with daylight becomes an obligation. Great daylight design brings the qualities of the outdoors into the building. Daylight brightens the mind and invigorates the body. It carries warmth, provides clarity, and creates spaces for meeting, talking, relaxing and learning. VELUX glazing panels offer a range of product features and accessories to optimise the indoor climate by controlling daylight, heat and ventilation.
Control daylight and heat to create a better indoor climate. With VELUX Glazing Panels, you can optimise the indoor climate with glazing to control daylight and heat.
VELUX glazing panels come with low energy double or triple glazing and two different coating options.
The coatings are optimised to meet the desired levels of solar heat gain, sun protection, light transmittance and colour rendering.
Venting VELUX Glazing Panels offer several actuator options when specifying the panels. Option one and two have an actuator and crossbar visible from the inside. Option three is only available for triple glazing panels and have a chain actuator hidden in the front cover cap. The design of the panels ensures that there from the outside is no visual difference between fixed and venting panels in a closed position.
As an additional feature, it is possible to convert a rectangular fixed panel to a venting panel by post-installing a visible actuator and a crossbar.
Smoke venting glazing panels provide smoke ventilation in accordance with EN 12101-2
VELUX glazing panels offer smoke venting panels that, for triple glazing solutions come with a wind deflector. The panels and deflector are designed to reduce smoke accumulation inside the building in case of fire.
For some solutions a selection of actuators can be configured for smoke ventilation for both double and triple glazing solutions. For double glazing solutions, only visible actuators are available.
For triple glazing solutions, it is possible to choose either an actuator visible from the inside or a chain actuator hidden in the front cover cap.
A VELUX wind deflector is available for triple glazing solutions. The wind deflector is designed to change the wind profile over the glazing panels in open position, in order to minimise the risk of air intake and allow outtake of smoke even under unfavourable wind conditions.
Please note that this option is not possible for double glazing panels, so the wind sensitivity of for these ventilators must be addressed by other means.
