Ridgelight 25-40° is a classic rooflight solution, where two rows of Modular Skylights are connected at the ridge. The dual pitched Ridgelight solution is ideal for buildings with large roof openings.
Ridgelight 25-40° with venting skylight modules on both sides is an optimal solution for buildings that require day or night cooling.
The Ridgelights can be supplied with different types of glazing on each side to control heat and glare according to the orientation of the building.
Optional gable modules can be supplied with different types of glass or infill panels, depending on the visual expression you want to achieve with the installation.
VELUX skylight specialists offer support throughout design, specification and installation, including design of the sub-construction needed for installation.
Create a rooflight solution to match your design
By adapting the interior lining, modular Ridgelights 25-40° can be used in non-square designs, e.g. obtuse angles, acute angles or ovals. By using adapted linings, the modular skylights meet the demands of modern architecture featuring irregular or curved shapes.
Create an asymmetrical solution
Modules of different heights can be combined to form an asymmetrical Ridgelight solution that bridges roof sections of different height and slope. Using glazing with different characteristics on each side of the Ridgelight help maximize daylight and minimize heat intake.

Natural light shines bright throughout Kilternan Parish Community Centre thanks to VELUX Modular Skylights
Modular Skylights bring natural light and fresh air to learning at Tullibody South campus
Ridgelight 25-40° creates a classic dual-pitched skylight solution with two rows of modules linked together at the ridge. This design provides balanced, natural daylight from above, illuminating large commercial spaces evenly from a central position. The dual-pitched design allows daylight to enter from two directions, reducing contrast and shadows while maximizing the illuminated area below.
There is a possibility for asymmetric ridgelight configurations, allowing for modules of different lengths on each side. This provides some flexibility for adapting to unusual building configurations, though the system is designed for standard dual-pitched installations with 25-40° pitch angles.
Ridgelight 25-40° uses the same high-insulating components as other VELUX Modular Skylights. It features pultruded composite frames with excellent thermal properties and high-performance glazing options. The U-values range from 1.3-1.5 W/(m²K) for double-glazing modules and improve to 0.86-1.1 W/(m²K) for triple glazing modules. Factory-finished flashings ensure proper sealing and insulation at joints.
VELUX Modular Skylights, including Ridgelight 25-40°, can be delivered with built-in photovoltaic cells in the glazing unit as a special product. These integrated PV cells can be arranged in either half or fully covered configurations depending on size and customer requirements, while maintaining the same thermal performance as standard glazing units.
VELUX Modular Skylights has a reference service life of 30 years in accordance with EN 17213. This applies to the Ridgelight 25-40° system as well. The composite materials used in the frames provide excellent durability with minimal thermal expansion/contraction and are maintenance-free, non-corrosive, and electrically non-conductive.
Ridgelight 25-40° can incorporate venting modules to provide natural comfort and smoke ventilation. These modules allow hot air to escape at the highest point of the building, creating effective stack ventilation. The venting modules can be controlled via VELUX io-homecontrol® or connected to building management systems for automated climate control. Ridgelight 25-40° with venting skylight modules on both sides is an optimal solution for buildings that require day or night cooling.
Ridgelight 25-40° is available in module widths of 675-1000mm and heights of 800-2400mm, following the standard size grid. The system supports asymmetric configurations with different module lengths on each side. Interior frame colours include white (standard), light grey, dark grey, and black. Exterior cladding and flashing offer similar colour options. Custom colours are also available at additional cost.
Yes, Ridgelight 25-40° can be fitted with integrated roller blinds that fit perfectly into the window opening. These blinds are available in three fire-retardant fabric colours: white, grey, and black. The blinds can be controlled using either VELUX io-homecontrol® or an Open System solution (±24V DC) that can integrate with building management systems.
